Also, a proposal for clarifying terms:

These both qualify as "Sprite Editors"--something that lets you work with the actual bitmap. Character Maker XP is a "Sprite Constructor"--something that builds a sprite from prefab components.

And using those terms: have you seen any other sprite constructors on the net?

That's a good distinction. The only other "sprite constructors" I've seen are web-based, not downloadables, and are ugly. And they don't make RMXP-style sprites; it's a different body style. I'd have to go back through some of the RPG Maker forums to find the links, though.
